From the Pastor’s Desk

Again, following up on our financial transparency, please consider a restricted donation for the roof at Immaculate Conception School which must be repaired in 2026 – a bidding process is about done. The total cost is at least $400,000.

At the St. Vincent de Paul site consider a restricted donation for the parking lot – repairs and upgrades in 2026. Details and bidding process should begin in the Spring of ’26 but the need is obvious.

At Annunciation, consider a restricted donation for necessary upgrades to the church heating/cooling system. Less than $8,000 but work is imminent.

At a joint meeting of music ministers from our sites and Mass schedules a very detailed and enthusiastic response to the need for parish hymnals was discussed. Presently, we would have to spend about $14,000 for new paperbacks this

Advent season; throw them out next year and then spend another $14,000 for the following year…and on and on. The paperback hymnals now in the pews must be thrown out in late November.  Without objections music ministers settled on the following: Same hymns, hard cover and significant savings within 3 years. The initial financial outlay is $33,331. On the inside cover a name plate can indicate the name of a donor or as a memorial – the cost being $25 per hymnal, or restricted donations in larger amounts can be given.  Many thanks to all of music ministry for their diligent research, spirited conversations, and common-sense consensus.

We are also reminded that “settlement” funds have been transferred; that we are called to be good stewards of the church’s offertory giving and other donations; the financial reports are in the beginning process (perhaps mid-October as all invoices must be cleared) and will be presented with full disclosure.
