Immaculate Conception Parish at Aurora Theatre

Immaculate Conception Parish at Aurora Theatre

Our parish had an impressive turn out for the free Christian Movie Overcomer at the Aurora Theater. We are grateful to the generosity of one of our parishioners for making this night on March 8th possible. Immaculate Conception Youth Ministry was proud to sponsor this event.

Overcomer is available on dvd. If you were unable to join us, you may rent/buy a copy to watch. It is an excellent reflection to include in your Lenten journey.

Faith Fest on Advent

Faith Fest on Advent

?

Over 85 families from our Faith Formation and School gathered on Saturday, November 12th and Tuesday, November 19th to prepare for Advent. They learned about the many prophets and holy people of Advent. “John the Baptist” opened the evening with Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord. Special thanks to Jack Moffat for portraying John the Baptist. Every family made an Advent wreath together which Fr. Bob blessed before they went home. The parent session included a visit from our “Blessed Mother Mary” portrayed by Samantha Michel. She will repeat her reflective performance at our Feast of Immaculate Conception Mass on Monday, December 9th at 7pm.

Special thanks to the generosity of our parishioners which provided the supplies for the Advent wreaths.

6th Graders Receive Bibles

6th Graders Receive Bibles

On Saturday, October 5th our sixth grade Faith Formation students received Bibles from the parish to help them as they continue to learn about our Catholic faith. Our school children received their Bibles at the school Mass on October 18th which was the Feast of St. Luke the Evangelist.

When Fr. Bob gave out the Bibles he said, “Children we present you the gift of this Bible so that the story of God and God’s people may be with you at home, church, or wherever you shall choose to carry it. Enjoy reading how God is at work in nature and history. Learn about the life and teachings of Jesus. Be open to how God may continue to speak to you through your reading of the scriptures.” as part of the presentation.
