On Wednesday, December 8th Bishop Mike Fisher joined us for the 9:15am School Mass on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. During the Mass he presented the awards to the winners of the Keeping Christ in Christmas Contest sponsored by the Knights of Columbus of Christ the King Council.
On Tuesday, November 16th Sr. Judy and her secretary, Melanie, took the gift cards from our Fall Food Collection to the Response to Love Center. Sr. Johnice was very grateful for our parish’s continued support of their ministries.
The first of our Fall Food Collection deliveries took place on November 16th. $3748 in gift cards was delivered to FISH of East Aurora! Wow!
Over $8700 was raised with this year’s collection. Thank you to our entire parish family for your overwhelming generosity! Deliveries will be made to Response to Love Center and Catholic Charities Immigration Center next.
Thank you for helping our sisters and brothers in Christ!
Another pandemic milestone happened this weekend. We had our first After Mass Socials since February 2, 2019. Special thanks to our Social Committee for coordinating and serving these gatherings. It was so good to see everyone together again!
We also had a small Ministry Fair during the gatherings. Thank you to our parishioners who signed up for ministries! Our Church needs each and every one of you!
On July 13 and 14 families with children in Kindergarten through grade 6 gathered for a Family Bible School. The theme was “There’s No Place Like Home” and we focused on our Church as our home.
The first night they learned about Jesus’ parables, miracles and his call of the Apostles in a three-part quest connected to the Scarecrow, Tin Woodman and Lion from the Wizard of Oz. Each quest gave them part of the combination that opened a treasure chest at the end of the yellow brick road. Inside the chest was a cross for their home. The second night included a Church Scavenger Hunt which taught them more about our building, and they prayed St. Joseph’s Prayer for Families in front of our outdoor St. Joseph Statue.
Each night began and ended with singing and prayer in the Church. It was great to see the children so excited to return the second night. Their joy, excitement and enthusiastic singing voices filled our Church!
We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our parishioners! Over $8100 was collected to purchase gift cards for our Annual Thanksgiving Food Collection. We moved to gift cards instead of collecting food due to the pandemic this year.
Today, November 17, Joe and Carole Orlowski delivered over $4000 in Tops gift cards to FISH. Judy Lamb, the director, was so grateful!
Thank you to our parish family for your generosity and care for our brothers and sisters in Christ!
